Far East Hospitality, Singapore’s leading operator of hotels and serviced residences, today announced that it has won 10 awards at the annual TripAdvisor’s Travellers Choice Awards 2018.
  • The homegrown company was conferred 10 awards across the Best Service, Top Hotel, and Value for Money categories

  • Oasia Hotel Downtown, Oasia Hotel Novena, and Rendezvous Hotel Singapore were awarded for the first time

 

Singapore, 12 February 2018 – Far East Hospitality, Singapore’s leading operator of hotels and serviced residences, today announced that it has won 10 awards at the annual TripAdvisor’s Travellers Choice Awards 2018. The homegrown company was recognised in the Best Service and Top Hotel categories, as well as a new category – Value for Money.

 

Best Service category

AMOY, the first and only hotel in Singapore to incorporate a museum that traces the footsteps of early immigrants from China, and The Quincy Hotel, which offer an unprecedented concept of providing all guests with a host of premium All-Club Benefits, maintained their ranks in the Best Service category as 1st and 3rd respectively.

Village Hotel Katong, the flagship hotel under the Village brand that reflects the strong Peranakan heritage of the surrounding Joo Chiat and Katong districts, moved up one rank to achieve 17th position.

Top Hotel category

In the Top Hotel category, AMOY maintained its 2nd position while Quincy moved up two ranks to achieve 3rd position. Village Hotel Katong jumped eight ranks to achieve 12th position.

 

For the first time, Far East Hospitality’s newest property Oasia Hotel Downtown joined the ranks, attaining 20th position.

Value for Money category

TripAdvisor also introduced a new category titled Value for Money this year. To qualify for this category, a property must have at least four stars and four bubbles on TripAdvisor and offer annual nightly average rates that are at least 20 percent below the city average and cost less than $300 per night based on hotel prices available on TripAdvisor.

 

Making way into the inaugural chart is Village Hotel Katong at 2nd place, Oasia Hotel Novena at 4th place, and Rendezvous Hotel Singapore in 8th place.

"There was a family who had trouble calming their crying son. So I went up to the boy with our mascot ‘Quinn bear’ and a bowl of sweets. The boy promptly took Quinn into his arms and broke into a grin. Creating positive memories for our guests is an important part of our job,” said Hafiz Sukor, Guest Service Executive of The Quincy Hotel.

 

Other examples of delivering far more for guests include learning new languages to converse with customers, personally walking guests to the nearby local food centre, and bringing a wheelchair to fetch a guest’s mum who felt giddy while shopping at the nearby streets.

 

In the 16th year of the awards, TripAdvisor has highlighted the world’s top properties based on the millions of reviews and opinions collected in a single year from travellers around the globe. Winners were identified in the categories of Top Hotels, Luxury, Bargain, Small, Service, B&Bs and Inns, Romance and Family. The hallmarks of Travellers’ Choice hotels winners are remarkable service, value and quality.
